Heroku has added Java for a new enterprise focused service so companies and IT organizations can build and run Java applications in the cloud. In a press release, Heroku boasts it will allow companies to deploy mission-critical apps in minutes instead of months. That's quite an assertion but the platform as a service (PaaS) market is showing the enterprise that developers need ways to quickly put up apps without always having to be managed through IT. Heroku Enterprise for Java is part of the Salesforce Platform - its play to offer development environments for social and mobile apps.
